How does it work?

The i-Lipo emits low levels of laser energy which disrupts the fat cell membranes releasing intra-cellular fat. This causes the cell to lose its round shape by changing the permeability of the cell membrane. This does not affect the neighbouring structures such as skin, blood vessels and peripheral nerves. Triglycerides spill out from the broken cell membrane and are released into the interstitial space where they are slowly transported through the body’s natural metabolic functions and are used by the body as an energy source. Light exercise post treatment can accelerate the breakdown and removal of fat from the area.

Clinically proven

Independent clincal studies have shown i-Lipo to be in some cases, comparable to results achieved by liposuction. Ultrasound imagery shows up to a 30% reduction in the fat layer depth after just one treatment. Additional treatments improve results further. Results can be seen immediately after each treatment as the fat cell contents are released.

Safe and Painless

i-Lipo is a low level laser diode system and therefore is painless and completely safe. It can be used on all skin types and body areas and you can return to normal activity immediately after treatment.

Immediate results

Results can be seen immediately after treatment. Typically a 2-4cm loss in abdomen circumference can be achieved with every treatment. A course of 8 treatments is recommended over 4 weeks with 2 treatments per week.

Targeted fat reduction

i-Lipo can target fat reduction in specific problem area. By positioning the laser pads on the target area such as chin, upper arms, abdomen or thighs, fat can be broken down and removed. This is a big advantage over diet and exercise which can reduce overall body fat, but not shape individual areas.

Treatment process

To assess your suitability, we first carry out a thorough & confidential consultation that will include measuring the dimensions of the area to be treated. Once you have been made comfortable in our private treatment room, the diode paddles are positioned on the appropriate area. The i-Lipo machine is then switched on for ten minutes (which is the time needed for Lipolysis to occur). The paddles and lymph diodes are then repositioned up to four times depending on the treatment area, before being removed. The process is very comfortable and pain free, the only sensation experienced is that of gentle warmth. Following the treatment it is vital to perform exercise as soon as possible (in this case a session on our cross trainer!) to help to speed up the body's metabolic rate and by doing so, stimulate the natural lymphatic system. Combined with dietary advice this will help prevent the body re-storing the fat that has been released from the i-Lipo treatment.
