If you would like to reduce the appearance of lines in the upper third of your face, while still maintaining expression, but having that fresher, more awake appearance botox is the treatment of choice.

Since the late 1980's Botox® injections have been used to treat millions of patients worldwide and is the world's most popular non surgical treatment. This treatment has revolutionised the cosmetic industry due to its remarkable results combined with very few risks and no recovery time.

Botox® (a purified protein produced by Clostridium Botulinum bacteria) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of frown lines (glabellar), forehead lines and crows feet. Botox injections temporarily relax the muscles preventing further lines from forming. The effect lasts 3-4 months then gradually wears off.

Following a consultation, the area to be treated is assessed and the botox injections are administered, this is relatively painless and takes 10 - 15 mins after which you can return to work or other activities. The results of the botox takes approximately 5 - 10 days to work. An appointment to return to the clinic 14 days after treatment is made to assess the results and if required a top up may be given. The effect will last 3 - 4 months then the treatment would be repeated. In time most patients results last longer following several treatments.

To counter act this effect we can inject hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to hydrate and plump out the skin giving instant results. One of the most popular non surgical treatments. Common sites are naso-labial lines (nose to mouth), marionette lines (corners of mouth) and smokers lines. Lip enhancement can also be achieved and augmentation is possible.

Dermal fillers may also be used in conjunction with botox for particularly deep lines. Fillers can also be used for hydration purposes for ageing hands and the decolletage area.

To make your experience more comfortable, a topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatement to numb the skin for 30 mins, even though majority of the products themselves contain a local anaesthetic. The treatment is performed and the results can be seen instantly. Following treatment the area may be slightly red but this will subside within a few hours, there may also be a very slight swelling. Following lip enhancement and lip augmentation ice is usually applied to alleviate any swelling.
